1. Coworker Craig gave his contribution early this morning, so I’ll go ahead and post the video for you. Blast from the past! Blades of Steel.

2. I am considering not visiting this restaurant because they use Comic Sans on their site. A story on the dreadful typeface.

3. Kids aren’t spending their parents’ money at the expensive stores anymore. Sorry, Abercrombie.

4. MopedLords is having their premiere party in a couple of weeks. I will be redoing their site today. Get excited!

5. April is National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Month. Yums.

6. Improving sanitation with the PeePoo bag. They say the bag is biodegradable, but it’s still a bag… How long will it take, and where will the bags sit in the meantime?

7. Where to go to get your next cape and/or gallon of gravity? Why, the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company, of course.

8. Creative ice cubes. I’ve seen these before and have always been a fan of the teeth ones. Check it.

9. Twisted Disney Princesses. Because not every little girl is sugar and spice and everything nice.

10. I turn 25 next Friday. 25. It’s always been a big deal for me, since I set so many goals for myself to achieve by 25. So far, so good. Still, it’s kind of an odd feeling. What’s next? A career and a marriage, I imagine. I’m not really in a rush for the latter, though. I would like this and this and this for my birthday. K thanks.

1. Latte Art. They do some interesting swirls at Tryst in DC… but that’s pretty much the only thing that place is good for. Oh, bad service. They’re good at that, too.

2. The Dalai Lama’s 18 Rules for Living.

3. The Best and Worst of Skymall. I always tear out that scary picture of the dog barking and give it to Amy when she picks me up from the airport. She must have like 7 of those photos by now.

4. Ten shirts every typography nerd needs. Kelly, I know you’ll love these. No Gill Sans, but the Kern shirt is awesome. :)

5. A designer leaves Brooklyn for Austin. Smart choice, my friend. I miss my city.

6. Craft your personal business model. We might need this sooner rather than later.

7. The speech the NAA should hear. By Jeff Jarvis. Yet another finger-pointing rant. Whatevs. Y’all keep arguing. I’m going to go over here and make something pretty & useful. K? K.

8. 24 Free Mac Design Programs. In case you don’t want to steal things.

9. If you’re not using Pandora by now, you should be. My favorite channel? Architecture in Helsinki.

10. Kelly’s gift to me after finding out about my INTERNSHIP THIS SUMMER WITH NPR. Word. Express Yourself:

Okay, so it’s been a busy week. I haven’t had much time to blog because of various interviews for internships. A few of you already know who I have decided to go with, but I’m waiting until Monday to make the announcement to the world.

While you ponder my next endeavor, enjoy some links:

1. Arial is everywhere! Created in 1982, this font can be found in many different logos and signs around the globe.

2. Sphere Logos, and why you shouldn’t use them. Personally, I see nothing wrong with a good sphere, but that’s because I’ve been inspired by…

3. Pinback buttons lately. A friend of mine writes for USA Today’s On Politics blog, and they use a pinback button design in their logo. They’re kind of fun, huh?

4. Python Tutorials. We learned a little bit of this programming language in Computer Assisted Reporting this past week. I’m kind of intrigued. I want to learn more, so I tracked down this site with a bunch of tutorials. It has a unicorn on it. No, seriously. Go look.

5. How to Start (or start-over) Your Personal Brand. I’ve been thinking lots about business stuff lately, probably because Richie is starting his own company. I’ll have to show y’all the logos I’m doing for him soon. Anyway, personal branding is good, especially in a time where you need to stand out from the pack. (Also, cute logo, Skelliewag… Sketch Rockwell font with a white stroke? Nice.)

6. Landmark Moments in Citizen Journalism. I found this on 10000words. I love that blog. You should love it, too.

7. TED Talk: Can Design Save Newspapers? Good one. Also short. But give the power to the designers? I think there are more things to consider, but it’s a good table topic.

8. Periodic Table of Visualization Methods. Sweet.

9. You’ve Got Voice Mail, but Do You Care? I never check my voicemail any more. It’s such a nuisance. The only people who leave messages for me anymore are family members and Amy. The former because they don’t know better and the latter because she likes to sing me songs.

10. Coworker Craig has been really into this all week. I know more about the Rock-afire Explosion than I ever thought possible:

Okay, I’ve decided to make a new regular feature on my blog… a list of links to random and helpful stuff that I’ve been browsing for the past week.

Enjoy!

1. The trailer for Where the Wild Things Are. It looks fantastic, and makes me want to sew up my own Max-pajamas. I’d love a tail.

2. Dollywood. Dolly Parton’s Great Smoky Mountain Family Amusement Park. How long has this existed? I had no idea until Kelly told me about it this week. We all want to go. But $53.50 for a ticket? Jeez Dolly.

3. The Do’s and Don’ts of D-I-Y Design. Or, why your Uncle Rick shouldn’t be allowed to design your new logo using Microsoft PowerPoint.

4. Multimedia Training and Resources. Compiled by 10000words.net. A fantastic list, and I love the J-Learning love!

5. 1998 Pirate Ship Limo. In the words of Nick Schwellenbach, “Could this save journalism?” I’m not sure, but I’d like to think so. We need it.

6. Scanwiches. Images of scanned sandwiches. Ridiculous? Yes. But fun.

7. Stretch those Photoshop legs. Tutorials on creating authentic photo effects.

8. Looking for business cards? Design inspiration.

9. Super Chameleon:
